“I had a genuine interest in telling a story from my point of view, and I also love romantic comedies. Working with Alonso Ruizpalacios (Museo)—the best director in Mexico, in my view—gave me confidence and he encouraged me. He told me, ‘If you're interested, go ahead and direct.’ As a producer, I try to stay very close to the creative process from the script to the shooting and supporting the director, so I felt confident enough to take the leap and direct a film.”
