The play is based on a quote by playwright Arnold Wesker that says: for Shakespeare the world was a stage; for me it's a kitchen. The world is a kitchen, meaning that in that place you find a microcosm of the world and when you put it under pressure you can observe many of the most extreme human behaviors, enmity, toxic masculinity, but also friendship and love; I also found them when I worked in a kitchen.
